Last week I had the pleasure of going to watch this movie called Queen and Slim. I am giving this movie a rating of 5 stars!! The movie was a romance love story mixed in with a message of a black revolution and black empowerment. The movie starts off with a black woman and black man on a date and as they were heading home from their date they were pulled over by the police. Now in our society black men and woman interactions with the police can sometimes turn violent in the event of the victims getting shot and killed or beaten to a pulse. This movie showed the exact opposite. As the white officer was heckling the soon to be couple with unnecessary gesture and orders the main character who we will refer to as “Queen” decided that she wanted to stand up for her rights and voice her opinion to the officer about them being mistreated. That didn’t go so well as the officer took offense and started to get more physical with the black male. As they wrestled around and scuffled some way some how the black man who we will refer to as “Slim” got access to the officers weapon and UNINTENTIONALLY shot the officer. In distress the two characters didn’t know what to do but they knew that in this society they couldn’t tell any judge that they accidentally shot and killed an officer so they chose to run and flee for their own protection. In their journey to run away from the police their story garners national attention but surprisingly they start to gain support from people in society. Black people come together to try and help Queen and Slim and protect them on their journey all the way until the end. The movie takes some crazy loops and turns but every time is does it just gets you to inch closer and closer to the screen. Very intense movie with a very real story line. I definitely would recommend this movie and I just might go see it again. 

Tech is taking over the world! In about 10-20 years or so the world will be a completely different place than it is today with all the technological advances were making and allowing in society. Right now the iPhone has a facial recognition feature in which it allows you to unlock your phone. This invention has lead to banks using the facial recognition on their mobile apps which allows you to sign in to your banking system and access your personal finances. Thats the direction we’re heading to for everything. I think to get to work or to clock in to work all you need will be your face. There will be facial recognition to get on to a plane and travel instead of using photos id’s. Everything we do by paper will become extinct and be replaced by tech. There will be jobs that people will be fired from and replaced by tech. Tech will take over our society and we will let it happen because of how cool and new it is.

If you were to gather 10 people at random, lets say you were at a grocery store, out of those 10 people I will bet you that at least 8 out of those 10 are currently using an iPhone. For the other 2 its either they are an iPhone protestor or are getting ready to convert over and buy an iPhone. Why?! Because the iPhone is the smart phone of our generation and it is only getting smarter. In just about 10 years the iPhone went from being a television in the size of a phone to now being able to use facial recognition to use the phone. Next the iPhone features will be able to unlock your house with just a touch of a button, it will be able to be interactive and your own personal assistant telling you what your priories of the day should be and what time you need to accomplish those things and it will also be able to help you with your health or if you’re in a medical emergency. This phone is purely about connivence. Everybody wants to make things easier and this phone does exactly that. Don’t miss out on this technological revolution.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
